Swati was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Aksimentiev group at UIUC. Before joining UIUC she worked at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany where she received her Ph.D. She worked on varied fields like nonlinear dynamics, polymer physics and bionanotechnology. Her projects with the Aksimentiev group focused on developing applications for nanopores. She explored the translocation of DNA through protein nanopores using all-atom MD as a part of a collaborative project to design nanopore based DNA sequencing techniques.
